Jennifer + Patrick {Legare Waring House Wedding}

Our friends over at Richard Ellis Photography recently sent over Jennifer + Patrick's timeless Charleston wedding and we just couldn't wait to share it with you!  Last February, on the grounds of Charlestowne Landing, the couple tied the knot under the breathtaking avenue of oaks.  Since Patrick had proposed under the same oaks trees just months beforehand (with his great-grandmother's engagement ring!), the historic grounds were the only option for their wedding day location.  After their beautiful outdoor ceremony, the couple moved the reception to the lawn of the Legare Waring House.  Here, guests enjoyed a fabulous assortment of Charleston cuisine from Saigon Catering, exquisite natural floral arrangements from Country & Lace and the lively Joe Clarke Big Band who kept the crowd dancing all night long!  As the sun set behind the gorgeous Legare Waring House, it made for a spectacular backdrop to a stunning Lowcountry wedding!

For the Boys {Wedding Catering}

While my husband and I were in the midst of planning our wedding, we had some issues seeing eye-to-eye on what was acceptable food to be served at our reception.  He wanted to make sure his guy friends we're going to enjoy their options and wouldn't be stuck munching on dainty finger sammies.  One of his grand ideas was treating our guests to a hot dog eating contest.  I kid you not...I can't make this stuff up.  I literally had to pick my mom's jaw up off the ground when she first heard of his plan.  So, after nicely refusing to serve up Oscar Mayer weiners, we compromised on serving late night McDonald's double cheeseburgers...we had the catering staff pass them out and people went crazy!  They still talk about it.   So, in honor of all the grooms-to-be who are set on hot dog eating contests or lord knows what else, we've rounded up some of our favorite food items that the men on your guest list might enjoy.  Let's face it, if you treat the boys to some hearty food and good booze, everyone's bound to have a good time.

Spaghetti and meatballs hors d'oeuvre.  I'll take two!

I would never have thought to serve meatloaf at a wedding but these meatloaf cupcakes with a mashed potato 'frosting' and a bite sized, bacon wrapped loaf sound pretty amazing.

Caribbean Comfort

Samantha Dockery is the Owner of Durham, North Carolina's Bliss by Sam.  She recently sent over this perfectly style shoot where she mixed a little bit of Southern Charm with a cool Caribbean theme at The Oaks at Salem in Apex, NC.  What I'm really loving about this shoot is that they haven't left one stone un-turned.  From the flowers and venue to the food and cake (can we please talk about how amazing that cake is!?), this is a completely cohesive event.  With my background being in catering, I'm a sucker for all things food. I feel like while catering is obviously an integral part of a wedding, it's often left out when telling the story.  But not here :)  Rocky Top Hospitality created a ridiculous Caribbean-inspired menu (are there any leftovers?) for the event that perfectly complimented the beautiful florals from Creative Touch Designs and the table layout from Bliss by Sam. The ah-mazing cake I've been drooling over was made by Sugarland, the rentals from Party Reflections and the talented Robin Lin was on hand to capture it all...Enjoy!
